Why I started Dating IRL
Like many people, I found myself feeling frustrated by modern dating. Endless swiping, conversations that went nowhere, and wondering why it seemed harder than ever to make a genuine connection.
The more I talked to other people, the more I realised I wasn't alone. So many people wanted to meet someone naturally but didn't know where to start.
That's how Dating IRL was born.
My vision is simple: to create relaxed, welcoming events where people can meet face-to-face, enjoy real conversations, and build genuine connections—without the pressure.

Who is Dating IRL for?

Do I have to be good at socialising?
Not at all. I get that events like this can be a little bit scary but we will do our best to make sure everyone is welcomed, we can even meet you in the car park so you dont walk in alone. Our events are designed to help conversations happen naturally, without pressure or awkward introductions.
When will the first events take place?
We're currently building our community. By joining the community, you'll be the first to hear about launch dates and upcoming events.
Does joining the community cost anything?
No. Joining the dating IRL community is completely free, and there's no obligation to attend future events.
Is this speed dating?
No.
Dating IRL is completely different from speed dating. We are about creating relaxed, enjoyable social opportunities for meet people naturally. While some events may include light icebreakers to help conversations start, the focus is on genuine connection rather than quick introductions or timed conversations.
Will I be the only person attending on my own?
Not at all. Many people will come on their own, and that's exactly what Dating IRL is designed for. You'll be welcomed into a friendly environment where everyone is there for the same reason—to meet new people, and everyone is in the same boat.
Why do I need to complete a questionnaire?
The questionnaire helps us get to know you a little better. It allows us to understand your interests and what you're looking for, so we can create enjoyable events and help make meaningful connections within the community.
What happens after I join?
Once you join the community, you'll receive a welcome email and be the first to hear about upcoming Dating IRL events. When an event is announced, you'll have the opportunity to reserve your place before tickets are released more widely.
